Kampala City Life in Africa's Friendly Country Uganda!

Kampala City Life in Africa's Friendly Country Uganda!

Uganda's reputation as "Africa's Friendly Country" stems partly from the tradition of Hospitality common to its culturally diverse populace, and partly from the remarkably low level of crime and hassle directed at tourists.

From the moment you land at Entebbe's Modern and Efficient International airport, with its breath taking equatorial location on the forested shore of island-strewn Lake Victoria, it is clear that Uganda is no ordinary safari destination though its endowed with a number of National parks for wild excursions/ wildlife safaris, the memorable Gorilla trekking safaris, Chimpanzee/Primate tracking, birding, mountain hiking, water rafting, the hotel facilities urban and Peri-urban, to mention but a few.

Kampala is a modern capital serviced by an excellent selection of international hotels, including a high-rise Sheraton right in the city centre, as well as bustling malls stuffed with Banks, shops, restaurants, internet cafes and cinemas. Reputable safari operators and car rental firms based in Kampala and Entebbe offer a wealth of local experience and specially know-how to international visitors/ guests.

Depending on what you want or wish for, Kampala is a lovely city, friendly people with warm reception to Tourists/ travelers and this engagement will make you more relaxed and feel like your home away from Home. I often spend most of my weekends in Kampala because i Love this city day or Night its so inspiration regardless of some few hassles at times. Though when searching for calmness and still life environments for soul finding or meditation then i head East to Jinja just 80km drive or to Entebbe just 38km drive.

Though Jinja and Entebbe might be assumed to be calm, they too are endowed with their own specular adventures as a traveler/ tourist shouldn't miss. For instance Jinja with its source of the Nile River (Longest River in the World), Rafting activities, Bungee jumping sites, Boat cruises on the Lake Victoria, Fishing and the Night life with good pubs/Bars, casino's, Live band Music, Street food adventures, cultural sites. And Entebbe is more endowed with beaches for the day relaxation before you can join the night life in Bars/pubs, clubs, do not forget tasting the salivating Tilapia fish while in Uganda from Lake Victoria oh my God its such a delicacy.

Note sole travelers including ladies will enjoy all the fun and safety in Kampala and surrounding towns withouthttp://www.walmarkafricasafaris.com/uganda-safaris.html any hassle. If you dress conservatively trust me you might receive some few marriage proposals for the ladies but its fine to just smile and say No Thanks pal!

Safety/security tips for travelers:
  • Leave  the big/mini ipads in your hotel room and carry what can fit in your outing garments for flexibility of not forgeting them when hanging out or when you have more than enough.
  • Do not leave your drinks unattended too in some pubs/clubs especially when they are peaked up just incase but to be on the safe side though these are rare cases where someone is drugged or another party starts enjoying your beer in your absence.
  • Take a cab/taxi when moving long distances or very late when your too exhausted but in case your hotel facility is nearby no problem flexing your muscles with your friends reciting the nightout encounters
  • Its often good to have some local friend who knows all the corners to guide you on the best deals and the different occassions at different spots otherwise you may end up visiting them all searching for a particular satisfaction
  • Drinks, meals are at reasonable prices in most spots unless when its a 3star facility but rarely you will get the fun you need in formal settings
  • Security is ok in all places including bars/pubs, clubs, hotels and on streets so just relax and avoid doing anything suspected of being criminal

Ngamba Island Chimpanzees/Primates safaris

Ngamba Island Chimpanzees safaris www.walmarkafricasafaris.com

Besides the famous Gorillas in Uganda, another notable adventure you shouldn't miss out even with limited Time on your side is the Chimpanzees primates on the Ngamba island in Lake Victoria. The are the most cheeky primates and the island helps you to have an easy glimpse and encounters avoiding the long trekking that you may encounter in the famous Kibaale National park which has the large population.  However, unlike the big, bulky mountain Gorillas, that in spite of their sheer size, they are shy and timid, the Chimpanzees are the direct opposite. They are unpredictable in their mannerisms and a little less approachable in most cases.

The thrill of getting close and personal with these primates is truly one of a life time experience and they are fun to hang around. They exhibit Human trait character resemblance indeed, just watch them play, interact with each other and even watch what you are doing.

Ngamba island is a sanctuary for the Chimpanzees aimed at conserving the species. The island  did design a number of interactive activities which visitors can enjoy such as feeding the chimpanzees, not forgetting other island adventures such as boat cruises, fishing, bird watch, swimming etc. And a one day safaris will resolve your inner self away from the main city traffic and engagements.

Transport to the island is flexible at reasonable rates, you can leave early morning at 8:00am Uganda/East African Time and be back to the main land by 5:00pm to trend into other Night life events But in case you want to spend a night on the island, accommodation facilities are available for you to relax and enjoy your stay.
